    Hi all,

Just recently setup my 2 stage tap filtration system. There is a question i would like to ask, any of you experience the increase of PH after using this system? Because before i used this system my tap water is 7.2 after using it is like now around 8. Thats why now a bit scared to use for my shrimp tank water change. Here are some pictures of my 2 stage water filter and the cartridges that i use.

Also did a little experiment just now. Filled 2 buckets with the water using the system and condition the water with these 2 conditional Stress Coat (Left) & Mosura Shi Zhen powder (Right). The water with stress coat the PH remain unchanged but Shi Zhen did help in decreasing the PH level. So now i was wondering is it safe to use the 2 stage tap water filter?

Activated carbon tends to increase pH... But not sure if it can cause an increase your pH by so much

What is your purpose in filtering your tap water?
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.

The increase in pH could be due to the new activated carbon cartridge removing most of the Co2 from the tap water, which results in higher pH... the effect should be temporary though, maybe try letting the filtered tap water age for a few days and test the pH again, see if it drops back to its original pH over time.

To have cleaner water for my shrimps. Like people who uses RO water for their shrimps just that mine less the RO system.
