    Do you have trouble trimming your duckweeds roots?
    I use a timer to control the lighting at 12hrs (7am-7pm) daily, helps to slower the growth, if not need to trim every few days, and they bloom like crazy, my office colleagues' tank were all fill with my duckweeds. haha.

    Are you saying duckweed or frogbit?
    Duckweed is small floating plants which I think the roots might be too small to trim also..

    Frogbit roots are easy to trim,I use timer for 6 hours daily.
