    Hi,
    I've recently stumbled upon this product; Miracle Mud.
    Has anyone got any experience using it? There is a freshwater version too.
    It seems that it's normally used in a refugium. Wondering if anyone has used this type of system as well?

    Here's the web site;
    http://www.ecosystemaquarium.com/

    Looking forward to any experience and advice.
    Thanks

    Hi swmhang,
    this thread is more for new member introduction. A more appropiate thread to post would be beginner's corner or equipment and accessories.

    Anyway, i do not think it is neccessary for freshwater, especially planted tank. The only thing that i think is useful is probably the slow release of trace minerals but the addition of trace fertilisers, use commonly by planted hobbist will also cover that. It is easy and cheap for freshwater tank to just do water change so the denitrifying function although good may not be so important for freshwater.
