Seachem flourish, excel and min. about 8hrs of photo period. What plants are you having?
Hi,
I have a tank with normal stone gravel (no soil)
I have quite a few plants in it, tied to wood, tied to mesh etc, but it seems like something is not right because the plants dont seem to grow.
My bio-load is low because I only have 10 cherry shrimps and 2 nerite snails and 2 ottos
Is there any simple fertilizer that I can use in the water?
Seachem flourish, excel and min. about 8hrs of photo period. What plants are you having?
I have 8 hours photo period
Plants are nana, java fern, flame moss, moss ball and fissiden
Can I just put soil in a cup and place it on the gravel to allow the nutrients to get into the water column?
your plants are slow growing, except the flame moss. when you mention "don't seem to grow", how long have you been observing them?
How many plants (stalks or patches) do you have? if you have plenty, i would recommend to dose fertilizers into the water. if not alot, i will leave them alone.
Alot in the sense that it covers 80% of the tank with greenery.
Also what lights do you have? a full tank shot will also help.
I am balding but i am still young!
Hi fishlearn, most of your plants are slow growing. You can probably read a little about them. Google will be helpful.
Not sure how big your tank is, but i will think seachem flourish comprehensive and a bottle of trace minerals will be sufficient until you take another step further in more demanding plants.
Search keyword which maybe helpful for you is aquatic plants.
