    Hi guys...

    I am using a 2nd tank with 'not-too-old' substrate fert...erm...
    1) How do I know that I need to re-fertilize the substrate?

    2) And if so, is there any other more cost-efficient/less intensive way, rather than rescaping the whole tank, of refertilizing tank?

    3) Is substrate ferts really necessary?

    4) And if liquid ferts can do the job for me, what brands/labels would you recommend?

THanks guys...give me some two cts worth of ur knowledge!

    Cheers!
    Melvin.

    Re: Substrate Fert

Look up the thread called "articles on dosing" in the Aquatic FAQ and read the Tom Barr Estimative INdex.... a clear-cut method for fert adding, just need KH and pH kits plus a measuring spoon and the raw ferts.... Dr. Mallick has these.
