Probably a mayan cichlid![]()

Well, this was my starter fish and actually... I didn't know anything about fish keeping... but what I can tell you, is that it was the sole survivor of 30 fishes with incredibly high bioload and even without a filter. Pretty hardy to me. Lasted 2years
Wowww^^ every fish keeper's Favourite fish huh?yeah mine is doing very well in a 10gallon
gonna get a filter for it tmr^^ Thanks
by the way, does it dig in the substrate?:/ should I get sand for it?
Not really sure about that though, mine was just a plain bare tank and the algae acted as the filter
yep looks like a mayan cichlid to me. very aggressive fish. choose tank mates wisely![]()
No experience in keeping them but they are fairly easy to keep I supposed (since they are able to breed and survive in our longkangs). Just simple filtration will do. Diet wise they would probably eat any fish food u throw at them. Hope that helps.

Small is beautiful.
This is an aggressive species, not meant for community tanks. That small fella in the pic will grow pretty large. This species prefers alkaline conditions but is adaptable as long as the water is not too acidic. It will eat anything, from pellets to baby frogs when it is adult. Since it is a carnivore, the waste it produces is quite a lot, so make sure you have a decent filter running on the tank. It is a survivor but will not do well if the conditions are not to its liking. Worst case scenario, bacterial slime infection, then it dies on you. It is a digger and will appreciate some sand in the tank, but gravel will do just fine.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Thanks a lot Pseudo and Stormhawk^^ hahaha I guess I shall add some sand into the tank once the filter is maturedThanks for all the help given by everyone
