Are they considered the same strain?

    hi bro

I think they should be the same strain. Probably from the same batch of fries too.

It is very subjective. Some people consider super red if the redness hit the tail. Red belly for those with just redness on the belly. Still consider same strain.

    hi bro Joopsg

I think, from bro Marco's question, he is wondering if they come from the same parents. Perhaps a simple way of putting it is : are they the same morph?

Same strain doesn't mean same parents. E.g. Apistogramma cacatuoides "Triple Red" is a valid strain, but not all are from the same parents.

I concur with Henry, except to add that at the end of the day these are all trade names, and suppliers will tag the name that makes them money. For example, the "Super Red" strain may have previously had the requirement for redness covering the entire belly until it hits the tail, but frankly if you look at the "Super Red" fish in the market today, most of them have just a small bit of red in their bellies. Supplier just see red and tag "Super Red" on the batch, as (a) knowing hobbyists may buy thinking that the redness will intensify and develop over time; or (b) unknowing hobbyists will just buy it anyway since they don't know, and over time this becomes the new "standard" for "Super Red".
