Wow! I like your equipment arrangements! Very neat and easily accessible. Looking forward to see your scape flourish!![]()
Parents complained of having an empty tank at home as chinese new year is coming, dad said that it's not a very good beginning to have empty tank in the house. Tank is currently 2 days old, seeing some growth with the DIY LEDs I made. Will be updating more in future.
Previously did more rockscapes, so going for just driftwood and plants this time round, and also learn more about plant growth and trimming regimes.
Really great to have a cabinet, imagine if i did not have a cabinet and all these equipment will be shown..

B. Briggitae are awesome but hard to mix with other fishes.having trouble adding other fauna with Briggitae And, with a black oyama paper as background, it'll bring out their color even more.

nice scape, expecting an explosion 0f cherries population!
Nice diy led lighting and stand.![]()
If you look carefully, the driftwood looks very similar to the face of the horse!
Happy CNY QW,
Looking forward to see the plants fully grown. My humble opinion, just shift the DW right end foward and the left end slighty backward, will add more depth to the whole scape. Still very impressive by your DIY lights.
Remember i preorder your lights already.Haha

gong xi fa cai!
simple and elegant. though the skimmer can be quite distracting..
given that its a max mix(yay! we should start a fan club) and 2ft tank, i think the siesta is too long?
I am balding but i am still young!
Nope ? If u have a strong current. They will jus dash around the filter all day long. Going up and down

Okay, thanks for the advice! Will try it out once the plants are settled in as I don't want to uproot the plants as thry might still be converting to submerged form.
Haha you and provide me the materials, I can help and guide you along! Try doing it yourself, it's fun, and it's customisable to whatever you want..

Yea I thought it could slightly camouflage in the black oyama.. Serves as a skimmer, and more if a powerhead to prevent dead spots around the tank..
Will most probably remove it once I put some shrimps and fishes in there as there have been stories of it skimming everything in its way..
Yes max mix fan club, totally love them! Putting in siesta period to slow down algae growth rate as well as for the plants to take a break when photosynthesizing. They do reach a saturation point where they do not photosynthesize as efficiently and the rate drops drastically. So hoping the longer siesta hours will make them ready for photosynthesis at high rates again when the lights are on.

Changed the lights for the tank..
See the different colours? Did not have enough LEDs to replace all..
Now it looks less bluish, and more natural.. Hope to see some exploding growth.. Maybe I am expecting too much from the 3W LEDs.
Black ugly cable ties will be replaced with translucent ones.. Still cannot think of a cheap way to protect the LEDs..

It sure look brighter than before, maybe a bit too much light.
They only way to find out is trial and error. So this is the 3w 6500k that you have just switched, what was the colour temperature
of the previous led that have a blueish colour before.
qw, can drill small hole to screw mount the led, then can just use normal thermal paste. saf led torches have some being made that way.
will be easier to change/replace led.
as a former DIY PC addict, you can try hide or zip tie your cables. it will 100% look neater, now its just jumbled up with your water pipes giving you impression too many pipes.

QW, can get clear acrylic sheets from DAma, art friend or little indian .
Dated post , but i think the price should be less than $10. Big sheet balance can use for next project or give to other hobbist... "hint hint" hahaha

Can check out the acrylic signboard shop also, i believe the price will not be too far off too.
