Once the positioning of the rocks were done, i try to arrange the positioning of the driftwood. Shifting the DW here and there finally get the position that i feel most appropriate.
Hello Everyone, Just here to share waiting for some input and suggestion on my Scape Journal. First Scape after 15 years break due to some work load.
Anyway good to be back to this hobby again and The Journal Begins here:
30th December 2013
Finally manage to gather all the stuff that i needed to build a 2feet tank. Here are the detail of the Setup
Tank Size: 60 x 35 x 35 cm
Lighting: 24Watt x 4 FL
CO2: 2-3 bps
Base Fert: ADA Power Sand
Substrate: ADA Amazonia
Decorations: Driftwood and Rocks
Flora:
Glossostigma
Dwaft Hairgrass
Styrougene (correct me with the spelling)
Anubias Nana Mini
Cryptocroni Wendtii
Rotala Red
Rotala Green (replacement for Stargrass)
Problems found during the first 2 weeks:
Hair Algae
BBA
Snail invasion (Any suggestion how to solve it other than using puffer fish)
Larvae, Found 7 of them in the tank causing the stem plant growth slower than it should be
Here are the photo journal of the setup and some updates ...

Its planting time!
I started from foreground to background since its much easier to plant stem plants compared to carpet plants.
7 days old update (this is where the larvae and snail invasion start to catch my attention). Forced to replace some plants due to the problems and begin to introduce some fish into the tank ...
Fauna:
Rasboras Espei
Corydoras Pygmeus
Cherry Shrimp
30 Days Old tank just about to start 1st Trimming ...
Happy Chinese New Year All, Gong Xi Fa Cai ... wishing everyone a good health, prosperity and wealth (So we can create more aquascape)
Looking good, very NA. What happen to the red plant?
Shadow: i hope it will stay NA, Thanks bro. I guess i need more light for the red plants. it turns green as they grow ... Any suggestion which one is better LED lighting or MH Lighting?
Nice!

my red plants also turn green even though I am using mhx and dosing iron in a 1feet height tank. but my japonica in my shallow tank 24cm (h) is turning reddish using 4 x t5 .
@ Kiang: Thanks Bro
@ tcg170980: Yup, i am wondering the same thing too, i have a red colouration at the tip of the stem plants only.
Nice scape, like how the plants are growing in and nice photos! How's are the shrimps doing?
@ Ingen: Thanks Bro. Shrimps not doing good. Died one by one, i think due to ammonia level in the water. i haven't do some test ...
Sorry to hear that. That's what I was worried about too. I realized shrimps don't do well in a newly planted tank. Mine kept dying too, going to let the tank settle for another month before trying again.
Ingen: haha its ok. Will start putting some shrimp again in few days time. Thx anyway
What is the temperature of the water?

MH is overkill for 60x35x35 tank. 24x4 watt should be enough to make plant red. Did you dose iron?
@Aquaobsession: water temperature is around 28-30 d3gree
@Shadow: yes I did dose iron. Is the kelvin or lument of the tank could caused this?
Iron dose and limiting nitrate (careful not to stunt plant) and good lighting. ..should turn red. I read that from tom barr.
