I am balding but i am still young!
i narrowed down the issue of the rampant algae growth. I added 100pcs of neon tetra as Seaview sells them for $12. So i dump all inside, being excited to finally see lifestock inside, i feed them alot. Water change i didnt do once a week.
So by overfeeding and not doing water change, i suppose contributed to the surge of the algaes. However i have since reduced feeding to alternate feeding, reduced tetras to 20 pcs and have deployed Malayan Shrimps and Ottos and do 2 litre of water change daily. All this to elivate the algae problem

You can add more plant mass to help consume the excess nitrates. Think might help control nitrate levels and thus algae issues.
If you don't want to spoil the scape, you can use floating plants like frog bits or water lettuce.

50 shrimps considered a lot for 2ft yet matured tank, they also participate in producing organic waste whereby Algae's taking benefit.
I guess this tank just recently setup?

Yes. The shrimps are not permenent residents. The concept is simple and minimalist. However the algae issue is getting out of control thus the need for the shrimp. Once it gets better i will remove them and not to commit the same mistake of overfeeding and not doing waternchange. I hope i got rje princiole right.

Could try dosing 2x excel then usual, it does help with this pesky algae.
The rest just feed less and starve malayans to eat more algae.
Learning the hardway, not the highway.

I did just thati'm in the midst of tearing this setup down to make way for a wider 2 ft tank, i just got excited when the first planted tank i had manage to grow with "not" much difficulties hahaha. I observed that HC looks nicer and makes the tank looks bigger ( leaves are small) compared to glosso hehehe.
