plant quarantine ?

Hi members,
Need help about plant quarantine. How to do it and how long ?.

Cause have brought some plants before and later destroy my whole tank with hair algea.
Bad experience, would not risk another incident again.

To address issue of algae, one does not need to quarantine the plant. you need to either dip in a diluted bleach solution, or hydrogen peroxide or excel solution. don't dip it for too long, if not the plant might die.

does not apply to mosses, especially fissidens.

to address snails, you can try dipping into snail killer solutions or potassium permanganate (seniors please correct me if wrong)
for snail eggs, can try salt solution

to address worms, can try dipping into vermex (another solution).

be careful to thoroughly rinse the plant after dipping into the concoctions above.

I personally do not quarantine fissidens, because what ever i do, it just seems to die off due to the treatment.
What i do is to inspect for eggs. no eggs, i tie it up (it always almost unties itself..) and that's it.
