Nice setup! small, tight and neat.
How do you do water change?
A small shrimp tank in my office
all the tiny habitants including fish, shrimps and snails live happily together!
Especially, one of the crs is carrying eggs!!!
volume: 3L (less than 1Gal)
temperature: day 24C, night 28C
light: led 2W
pH = 5.5 (ridiculous low, but trust me, I'm a chemist)
filter: hang-on type
4 boraras brigittae
3 crystal red shrimps
3 red cherry shrimps
Java moss (Taxiphyllum barbieri)
Mini-fissiden (Fissidens splachnobryoides)
Nice setup! small, tight and neat.

I am balding but i am still young!
Thanks,
In very first days, I intended not to use filter since the system is small. I change 20% water weekly.
Just 1 month ago I bought the hang-on filter, the shrimps look much happier thenI rarely change water after using the filter (maybe twice per month, 10%-20%).
Simply using a small cup can do that job
Javamoss grow very dense and bushy now![]()
I see. the filter proportions are blown with the tank in the picture. hahaha. looks like 1 tank hitched on another tank.
No offense!

3L is really really small indeed, but it still looks good![]()
Hey there! Never would have thought a small tank would look so nice too!
The moss looks cool..especially the vietnamese fissiden. Can I check how much and where you got it from?

I bought all from C328
fissiden is the most expensive (15S$)
my notice is that, for the moss to look cool, we need a cool temp., and my 24h air-con office do that job well!
2 weeks ago I separate pregnant crs to my small beaker (250 mL)
And this is the results:

Cannot count how many tiny shrimplets are there ^^
I'll wait until they grows a bit bigger (because the tank alrd got fish inside), then move them back to their 3L home ^^
Cool! Btw, what kind of moss is that?
@Pearljam : Java moss and mini-Fissiden
Nice set up

Hey there, did you purposely choose to have you pH of the water that low, or was it because of the soil that made the pH to that level?
How do you see the low pH affecting/ helping the growth of the shrimps and plants?
I think it's because of the soil. I didn't mean to drop pH that much.
I would say the shrimp and plant are pretty good. My CRS breed to F2 now)
But all of my Cherry shrimp died quite long ago. Maybe they are more vunerable to low pH than CRS.
