Boil them, scrub them, soak them.
Use them.
Boil them, scrub them, soak them.
Use them.
Sorry.
The 'impurities' won't be removed in a single boil. It will still release whatever mineral in it with over time. And then I will test for any ph reducing or increasing in a bucket.
Recent studies shows that putting recent studies in your statement have a higher percentage of trust people put into your recent studies. What?
If you have a TDS meter, soak the rocks with tap water till there is no leech out from the rock
I dun have a tds meter?
i will soak it for days boil it a few times and see how.
The rocks is like love at first sight. Hope I can use it.
My aquarium blog: http://aquasense-aquasense.blogspot.com/
Wash and soak in hot water to get rid of nasties.
If your keeping shrimp, check with vinger or tds meter if it will affect gh...
FYI, can get fined for doing that. Alot of stuff is belong to 'ah kong'
Btw, how come everyone never tell you don't use sms lingo (example 'cos').

sorry as I'm so used to all this SMS lingo... Will watch out in future.
pardon me... Are u sure I will get fine for picking up rocks from the beach?
if u walk along east coast there are a lot of kids picking up sea shells...
im not challenging you but need info if I'd really against the law...
Cheers
We all are very used to using, even i use sms lingo.. just not inside the fourm.. Luckily AQ more locals.. else sms lingo too powerful... i get alot of "HUH??" when i talk in office IM service... LOL
But then at least i won't be replying to a nice reminder with sms lingo too.
In most countries it is illegal, but is not tightly enforced.
Don't worry about it, likely that will fall under NEA or AVA.. not AQ definitively. Since your the one who's gonna get fined.
Let's just state 2 simple example.
1: This is known to be legal ONLY IF you follow the correct method stated by NEA (Else you get warning letter or fine): Rain fall is everywhere, how about collecting it
2: This is i also not so sure but here it goes: Small trees (30cm-1m tall) everywhere also have... so how about take one home?
Take it with a pinch in-liew of children collecting seashells okay? There are times when the color is THIS hope you get the meaning
Back on topic, If you never cleanse off the nasties on the rock, your livestock will take the hit. Long time ago it happened to me (how the hell would i know... i was in primary school only. Put beach stone fish all die.... damm sad after.. end up starve to buy fish put back... )

Finally throw away all the rocks. I have submerged the rock for the past 2 weeks and even boil it twice. I can see all the "worms" came out and some stuck in the rocks and saw 2 small crabs and other organism. Gosh the whole house stink like nobody biz. I have tried so hard to scrub and no matter what the smell just don't go away. Finally received a "warning letter" from my CO. In the end throw it away. Hianz.
Anyone had such experience and how do I remove the smell?
Guess shld be clear from all SMS lingo.
Cheers

Don't take it too hard, at least you are willing to learn and accept. What we remove from nature might be just a piece of wood or a rock... but to the small creatures, its their home, their only shelter from predators..... just take note in the future...
well, now you know why most of us rather go LFS and spend hard earn money for this hobby...
