Brought into sgp before thru check in luggage. Furthest was from Taiwan to singapore.
You will risk some deaths due to uncontrolled temperature in cargo area.
If you double and triple bag you will get away with burst bags and leaks.

Temperature maybe too cold that is why recommended for only short distances to prevent the bag to reach ambient temperature equilibrium.
The 2nd and 3rd bag no need to fill up with air. Original bag will do.
Ok..!!wat abt going to the Philippines??Davao??4hrs to reach n extra 1hrs-2hrs I reach hm..!!becos there nt lyk Singapore short distance can reach hm!!

The more important is can you cross the customer checkpoint when you got check buy them. Don't hand carry there is a possible way to cross, if hand carry please don't try cos end up the fishes are left at the customer til they die and throw away.
Treat your fishes like your baby. The sign and symptom is the same but cannot talk.
Go nature
I did a shipment from SIN to BKK...I will write up my experience when I'm back later this week as I was sweating this for a long time. All ended well so hang on for what I did!

I had to transport a bunch of shrimp and rasporas to Thailand from here and bought the following items having researched like crazy on the net. Note you need to know if your species are endangered etc so don't play the smuggling game unless you're an idiot.
Foam box
Cardboard shipping box
Few Easylife Crystsal liquid drops to reduce stress per bag
Bags (kindly dontated by LFS)
Thick Rubber bands
Foam box lined loosely with newspaper pages to absorb shock *not to absorb leakages*
Fish & shrimp double bagged with a few drops of that Easy-life stuff. I think I put about 5 per bag so had 4 bags in total. Most of the bag content was air not water so only about 1" water above the fish/shrimp when the bags are laid on their sides to ensure max air to water contact.
Packed in the foam box, more newspapers on top and sealed the lid with tape. Put foam box into packing box with address details and 'handle with care/keep warm/livestock' notice.
At Thai airways check in (SIN) the agent got a shock when i told her the contents (and okay, I bs'd a bit that i'd done this before) but upon checking with her supervisor (they always do) directed me to excess baggage. Paid about $20 for this one box as excess baggage.
Got to BKK airport and I went to red lane...remember research about endangered species etc...useful to know what is allowed so you can talk if needed. They asked to inspect and after messing around struggling to open everything they saw the shrimp and got all cooey-cooey. Was to told "okay" so packed up and left the airport! Note the bags do deflate about 5-10% as the air pressure adjusts on descent. Happy to say that every shrimpy & fish survived and the shrimp have bred 2 times since being in their new home so glad it was successful.
Lesson learnt....it's bleeding difficult to catch fish and shrimp!!!
Boy it was stressful trying to work out everything I needed to do though so won't be doing it again! Talking of which, PM me if anyone needs any RCS...mine keep breeding
BTW...there is something on Youtube of a fish seller in Australia showing his bagging technique except he adds Oxygen but that's unnecessary for a short 2hr flight plus transfer either side.
