haha, chocolate Gourami sure will eat them. 100%. The only fish you can keep with shrimp is boraras brigittae, merah .
Wanted to share something funny that might turn to a horror film in the long run.
For anyone who might want to rear fishes(regardless of what fishes) with shrimps, do take a look at the picture and remember that death stare from the Gourami(I wonder what is she thinking) and think twice, have lost countless of shrimplets and juveniles to them.
Anyone wants to share their successful stories with fishes and shrimps living happily ever after ?

You can try Otos and panda loach also.
Strangely I got no problem with chocolate gourami and shrimps. Clown killies are also safe with shrimps too
However I have seen boraras brigittae hunting shrimplets with my own eyes. Hahahaha
Yep, i have bad experience with boraras brigittae hunting shrimplets too, just trying out different fishes, panda cories now(at least they don't give a death stare to the shrimps). Have heard bad things about clown killies too, will try them soon
I love how the shrimps are riding on the otos, will find an opportunity to take the picture.
Your fish tank must be small which allows your brigittae to prowl the base of your tank with ease and hunt for small foods. In fact, brigittae don't deliberately hunt for shrimplets, they both appeared accidentally together and the shrimplets sometime dart faster than the fish and give the brigittae a shock of life ...hahaha. If your tank is big, boraras are mostly a surface fish and hardly go down to the ground. I would say, they are 96.75% safe to keep with shrimps. You can work out the fraction.

Another problem I had with the brigittae was they are trying their best to be ikan bilis for me, constantly flying out to have a taste of land life.
I suspect the gourami are chasing them.
Anyone tried panda cories with them? I just added 6 into my 2ft crs tank.
Always wondered where my shrimplets disappeared to. Hmm...
I have 3 endlers and 1 rasbora galaxy with my shrimps. They never bothered my shrimps and will sometimes swim along side together. The shrimps are also not afraid to come out in the open. I think they figured out the fishes wont kill them. However, I'm monitoring as much as i can, to see if the fishes try to eat them.
My endlers are all males, who are smaller and less agressive than females. Females will kill shrimps.
Should my shrimps get berried, I will get more mosses for cover or may decide to give away the fishes to another hobbyist.
Anyone had luck with endlers?
I've had shrimps in my endler tank too and the males were fine with adult shrimps... but even though the male endlers are smaller and less aggressive, they will still eat any new-born shrimplets they can find, so it'll slow down the shrimp population growth.
If its a community tank and the shrimps are just meant as algae management crew, then its okay to keep them together. But if you want maximum breed yield from the shrimps, then it'll be better to just seperate the fishes and shrimps.
Panda cories just laze around the tank with the shrimps, i certify them safe "so far". They even lose out to the shrimps when it's feeding them.
My panda cories tend to be less aggressive and avoid the shrimps in my previous setup. Not sure if it's the long feelers of the shrimps that "warn off" the fish.
