    Hi guys,

Does the proximity of the lightings affect the water temperature of the tank? And if it does, how high should I raise my lighting such that it would not affect the water temperature?

    I'm using 2x 16Watts T5 for my 18.9 L aquarium. Currently, the water temperature is 30 degrees.

use a fan to bring down the temperature. I had tried using those standing house fan to cool my 2 feet tank while my 4*T5 is on and managed to cool it consistently at 27c.

elevating the light will sacrifice the intensity but regardless of height it will still emit more heat than a led.

best option in my opinion is to buy a aquarium fan or use a house fan which is free. if feeling rich, add a mini chiller if using a canister filter .

Height of the lighting is normally adjusted to tweak the intensity of the light. Too strong, lift it upward and vice versa. Temperature should not be in the equation. Try either getting a fan or chiller if you want to bring down the temperature
