    Dear seniors,

Recently I have been having a spate of shrimp deaths. Yesterday 4 Sakura fire red died, today another one died

    My tank is a 2ftx1x1
My water parameters are as such:
    Ammonia: 0
    Nitrite:0
    Nitrate:0

    PH 7.0-7.2
    GH 9-10
    KH 5
    Temperature 27-28

Could the death be due to a change in PH? I noticed that the PH rose quite significantly over a period of 1-2 weeks. The last time I measured the PH was 6.6 and rose to 6.8 and rose to 7.0 and now 7.2.

Could this be the biggest reason for the death? I have removed the coral chips from my filter and I noticed that the PH has drop back to 6.8 -7.0

My PH rose because the GH rose from from 6 to 10.

    Is the GH too high?

How long have your shrimps been in the tank before they died?

    High chance gh
    Fire shrimp can 6.5pH.
coral chips are the cause remove it and for now you can water change with DISTILLED water
But u have to slowy change little by little to avoid bacteria death unless u got bt-9
    And sudden gh spikes
