    Hi I have been running my 4 ft tank with 3 packet of JBL fertilizer since Feb 04. However the plants growth are slow and some even had leaves dropping off. Is it because the nutrient has been used up.

    I have one bottle of LushGro-Aqua and one bottle of LushGro-Micros. Do I dose using both Aqua and Micros. Or only one at a time. What is the interval between dose like ???

    Would be glad for any help.

    Actually you should have started liquid dosing since the first few days you started your tank. Both Lushgro fertilisers can be used together.
    Perhaps give us more information by cut-and-paste the info sheet at http://www.aquaticquotient.com/phpbb...pic.php?t=7182 and we work out something from there.

    You lights and bioload are OK.

    For plants: when leaves are small, I suspect lack of macro-nutrients like N,P,K.

    Have you already been using the Lushgro-Aqua already? If not, you can try something like 25ml of Lushgro-Aqua weekly after water change. Or split the dosing into twice weekly. On the bottle, Dr Mallick recommends 10ml of Lushgro-Aqua per 100L of water. I worked this out on my Dosing Excel Sheet and it looks like a good start before you start dosing more. Observe to see if any improvements.

    You should read more about dosing from the FAQ at http://www.aquaticquotient.com/phpbb...ic.php?t=12122
    From there probably you will like to venture on and dose other stuff like KNO3, K2SO4, KH2PO4.

    So you mean I split the weekly dosage to twice a week for both Aqua and Micros based on your worksheet. I am holding to get hold of the LushGro-Macros.

    Also, from your website you have dosage daily is that what I can do too ?

    Kelvin, I can't see any plant photos from the link http://photos.yahoo.com/kelvin_lee_bl you posted. Though there seem to be a picture of youself smiling.

    BTW - just try the Lushgro-Aqua first. Not the Lushgro-Micros. See how it goes.

    CO2, CO2 and more CO2. You do not have enough of that. Adding fertilizers would not do much if you do not have enough carbon which is 40% of a plant's dry weight. Work on the reactor...add more flow to it and think of ways to mix the CO2 better. Get good circulation to that big tank of yours. (Work on preventing CO2 loss in the overflow section and sump section would save you the CO2 you have been wasting.)

    Watch out for LushGRO Aqua. It contains N03 and lack of PO4.

    After I look at your tank, the plants don't look in bad condition. Not a very heavily planted tank though. Try dosing the Aqua and see if it improves. Feed your fish more as well.

    Plant ID:
    DSC02570 = Elodea?
    DSC2984 = Lobelia cardinalis?

    NItrate proportion have been tested and safe for fishes. Lack of PO4 is due to the fact that it exists in fish feeds, unless u have a fish-less tank
