Alder cones reduce pH and release tannins, and also supposedly produce anti-fungal and anti-bacterial compounds as it breaksdown, hence beneficial to shrimps... similar in effect to the ketapang leaves that local aquarists usually use.
Hi, I saw some videos on crs breeding and the breeder has alder cones placed in the tank. I wonder what's the purpose of the cones. Anyone can advise?

You can check at the LFS that specialize in shrimps... they may sometimes stock such items, or you could also order them online from overseas sellers.Originally Posted by popimac

Just to share - ketapang leaves OOS at y618. Auntie checked with uncle and uncle said oos, wait for a few more "days". 😪
