you can get laboratory thermometer from science supplies companies.
for aquarium use, check various thermometers offered by lfs. these include electronic and glass type.

Note that although the glass thermometers sold at LFS look nice... from my experience so far they are not exactly accurate, definitely not "lab quality".
I have bought various brands and they all seem to show noticeably different readings even when placed side-by-side in the same tank, sometimes the difference can be up to +/- 2°C... so while one glass thermometer can show 29°C, the other one can show 31°C, which probably cause some people to panic unnecessarily, thinking their tank is overheating.
Its better to get digital thermometers that are submersed in the tank or use a probe... i found those to be the most consistent with the least variations in measurements.
