Usually this case, I will get a very big net to catch them, using of 2 nets will help.
I had about 30 barbs in my 3 feet tank and they were causing havoc, munching on the leaves. I was able to remove most of them except 4 of them. I am having a lot of trouble getting them due to the many hiding places. They have recently been munching on the new leaves of my buceps and it's making me mad. Is there a way to get them out?

I have tried that but they hide in the plants or behind a large rock.
Drain the water to a lower height before attempting to catch them?

Make a PET bottle fish trap.Put fish food as bait. Need some patience but it works. You need to constantly monitor or the trapped fish may suffocate.
Suckerfish no eat poo poo.
One question, which barbs are these? You can either use a bottle trap as mentioned above, or catch them at night when they are sleeping.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
The barbs are quite big and I have no idea what barbs they are. What is a PET bottle trap?

Try catching at night. Off the lights for 1 hour for them to sleep. Than suddenly on the lights and catch them out while they e sleeping
PET Is a type of plastic. If I'm not wrong, they're found in the harder soft drink bottles.
I can understand how frustrating it is. I disturb a big part of my scape with lava rocks and plants when I try to catch my phantom tetra. You need to use something (I use my tweezer) to chase them out to the open and use the net to catch. If your plants are not very tall, you can reduce the water level to the minimum before catching. Otherwise the tall plants will form a thick canopy when the water level is reduced and hinder your catching
Like what other bros said, I'd catch them when the lights are off. Wait for about an hour and use the torch light to find where they use to sleep. Once found, just point the torch light somewhere else just enough for you to see the one you intend to catch. This way, it wont be able to clearly see the net and you have to catch it as fast as you can. Do it one fish at a time. I have used this method few times without fail. Good luck.
I used the bottle trap a was able to catch one of them.
