    HI all,
just wondering if anyone has a planted tank with a exposed top and ugly center and side brace at the top?

how do you scape to avoid focus on the bracing? Or is there a way to hide it?

typically tanks with top bracing have a piece of oyama sticker on top. the placement of my tank requires that tank to be exposed so the oyama will unnecessarily frame up my tank.. which is not desired..

some small talk with LFS owners, they advise....

"put those large large wood. extend out of the water. so when people see, their eyes will follow the wood.."

I have my doubts on this though..

Maybe try putting narrow troughs or pots of emersed plants on the side and center bracing... helps to hide the bracing, and also create an additional layer of plants.

Urban aquaria, you mean to put the plant pots on the bracing?

Yeah, i see friends with large tanks that have center bracings putting their bottles of ferts and chems on it... figured it'll be nicer to put plants instead.

Hahaha.. Ok. Due to the placement of the tank.. The moment I put things there, it will be more obvious. Limz_777, my tank is those longish type. Placed below window.

can you post pic of your tank? Not sure what you mean by "avoid focus on the bracing?".

Re: scaping advice for tanks with large center brace

My tank is lousily scaped. paisei (lose face, embarrassed) to post here.

My tank is placed at the balcony. below the window line. so you look at my tank, you will be looking out the window as well. as such, planting along the edge will induce the viewer to focus there as well.

Hope i have explained it properly...

I see viewing from top, you can try ask tank maker if they can change it to bottom bracing instead of top bracing.
