maintaining pebble substrate for predatory tank might be difficult , why dont go for aquasoil ?
Hi all,
I've been thinking of setting up a new 3ft low tech set-up for my rainbow channa.
Substrate will be pebbles + maybe root tabs and i will have some driftwood in the tank as well 55w lights.
Could you guys help me out with a list of some plants that can grow well under this set up?
As of now i have some ozelot red and anubias nana that i am thinking of bringing over from my other planted tank
Thanks for the help!![]()
Hi.
My aquasoil kept getting messed up by my channa which stirred up alot of murky substrate!
Maybe do bare bottom tank, or perhaps just a very thin layer of sand (for decorative purposes)... then use non-rooting plants tied to rocks or wood, or put rooted plants in pots then put in the tank. It'll be easier to clean, especially after messy feedings.![]()
Moss will be good.
Try not to go for Java Moss as they need regular trimming else will look untidy.
My favourite will be X'mas Moss. Will give a "bushy" look.
