Yes it is good for them. But first you'll have to dry them up to a point where it's crispy

Is there any reason for drying it?

If I'm correct, the ink from the leaves is poisonous even if not, it is to get rid of micro organisms on the leaves. Before you place the leaf in your tank, soak it to soften it

Drying it would hasten the time taken for bacterial to colonize/consume/break down the leaves.

I would boil it first to rid of the tannins

I also use mango leaf and banana leaf

My soil will buffer itself. No need further reducing.

Only using the leafs as "said" anti-fungal properties, humid acid and mainly bacterial.

You can get large bags of ketapang leaves from LFS like C328 for just $1 a bag... all the leaves already processed and dried, easier and less risk.

I have a mulberry tree at home and feed the fresh leaves to my shrimp frequently without any problem. I freeze them in the fridge then drop into the tank, shrimp will eat immeditately. I avoid boilding due to some nutrition get lost during the process.

I seen some processed leafs on eBay. Do a quick search and you can find some branded ones too.
