Quick question, when setting up a tank, which is recommended if I'm intending to put in spider drift wood and stones;
1. do you put the stones and drift wood in first then pour in the soil
2. soil in and place the wood and stones above the soil
Which would be recommended?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Eugene..
This is an interesting question. Personally for me, it is a matter of the eventual desired scape i would want to achieve. Well.. Here is what i mean..
For a simple flat look (substrate) be it having the same thickness front to back or the elevated look sloping up towards the back, then it would be soil followed by hard scape and eventually plants.
For a steep banking (substrate) or that has 'uneven' slope arrangment for its base layer, it would help alot to have the hardscape in first followed by pouring the substrate on top of hardscapes (to create that banking effect).
I hope u understand what i meant. Its 3am here while trying to answer this one.
Good advice on the soaked driftwood. :thumbup:
I love setting up new aquascape! Every single time.
