(Item A)

Recently the market starts selling the new model 2835 LED, 120 LEDs per meter !! ... Do not be confused with 3825 which is less brighter and less hotter.
I happened to have the following so i will do a comparison of these. The UP Z-series LED is no doubt a very good product. No regrets buying it.
This review is for those who wants something different or for those who likes to DIY.
Item (A) 100cm 2835 DIY
$24 - 1m 2835 Bright LED
$12 - 1m Aluminmum Bar
$12 - 2A power adapter
FOC LED connector
Power consumption = 31W
Item (B) UP Z-series LED Off the shelf product
>$100 - 60cm Model
Power consumption = 21W
Item (c) 120cm 5630 LED
Power consumption = 18W
Item (A) and (B) are bright white LED, and Item (C) is a little to the blue colour although it is sold as white light.
I know i am not comparing the same length so this is just a review for your information.
I hope there will be others that likes to explore the new 2835.
Following will be pictures and video.

Here is the video... i was changing the adapter in the dark so kind of unprepared... so an initially short video becomes this long....
I have indicated the time frame below for each different item.
0:05 to 0:40 - 5630LED
1:19 to 1:44 - UP Z-series
1:58 to 2:24 - 2835LED

Thanks for posting the comparison info... very helpful!
Btw, just for more accurate cost comparison, the 60cm Z-Series light (33 x 0.5W version) is currently retailing at S$76.80 (not >$100), before store promo discounts.

What you mentioned has some truth in it. I used to have 5050 LEDs and they do not last, not sure it is because of the source i got from or because i never use any aluminum or metal bar to keep the LED cool.
5630 is also from the same source and i have been using them for much longer time now, maybe they are much cooler... pity they are a little blue.
Whereas for this 2835, i got it from different source and costs much more.. $24 per meter.. not saying more expensive is good but the shop has been there for a long time and has many kind of LEDs.
For the 5050 and 5630, i got them cheap from online at about $40 for 5 meters....(around $8 per meter)

These strip LEDs are usually installed as mood lighting in homes, i have a few of them installed under consoles and behind wall features in my place and they have lasted for years... though i guess the ones i have are not kept switched on for extended periods, compared to the regular scheduled lighting used on an aquarium.

I need to clarify regarding the 5630.... The video might show a little bluish but from naked eye you will still see as bright white... just maybe not as white as the UP Led and 2835.... I do have another 5630 5-meters IP67 and i notice it has no bluish.... maybe the earlier batch i bought got some QC issue..not sure but still quite bright.

Additional to take note:
I happened to come across another article and for my 31W 2835, i should be using at least 3A (12V x 3A = 36W) and preferably >3A to buffer 25% extra to prolong the efficiency of the LEDs.
