Weird white slim at the bottom of my shrimp tank

I'm cycling my 2 feet tank and I used mosura bt 9 and some powder didn't fully dissolve and there was clumps of the powder at the substrate. I see white slime has form all over it and now my now my substrate has like patches of it. How do I remove it???

Thats probably just some mold or fungus growing on the clumps of powder (alot of bacterial activity in those clumps), just manually remove them using tweezers or siphon it out with a pipette. Once you introduce in shrimps they will help clear it anyways.

Can try put one or two shrimps and see whether they will eat it.

seems like the white slim thing has been increasing. i really dont know what to do already, the water has a very fishy smell and im starting to suspect it as a fungus. The snails dont seem to eat it and it only grows on the substrate which has benibachi bee3 on it. they seem to form on the bee3 on the substrate.

anyone know if i should put more soil to bury it?

The fungus or mold will grow when they can feed on excess organics and bacteria activity, thus they grow around the substrate where you dosed all those additives... once the nutrients and bacteria deplete, the fungus/mold will usually just disappear on its own too. So it's actually really necessary to do anything else to it, other than just manually removing any unsightly patches you find.

The fishy smell in the water is likely indicative of the tank cycling and bacteria population multiplying, alot of organic matter are being processed, hence the smell generated. Let the tank cycle and run it's course and the smell should go away once the tank is fully cycled.

Do you have a photo of the slime? From your description and how fast it spread, it sounds like slime mold, which is a sort of fungus... can sometimes look like its moving around the tank.

Same way to remove though, manually pick out as much as you can, and when there is no more excess organic matter for it to consume, it'll just die off on its own. You can do more frequent water changes to help reduce the excess organics in the water too.
