Missing CRS - Water change

Did a 20% water change. my FR shrimplets and 2 female still swimming around and eating. But my 4 CRS are missing. Is that normal? have they instantly gone to molt? i saw at least 2 of the CRS before the change this morning.

Yeah, water changes tend to trigger shrimps molting... so most likely the CRS are hiding amongst the plants preparing to molt.

May i know what kind of gravel is that?? seems like small stones.. looks interesting (looks like pebbles)

No soil at all. hence my ph, gh, kh high. i use distilled and age tap water to keep things constant.
i bought it from LFS in toa payoh. is small smooth edge gravel. like you said basically small pebbles.
