    Re: Shrimp breeding

Benibachi breeding liquid , Borneo wild dance. There is more. But I won't encourage using chemical to breed them.

You can actually make your shrimp breed by removing this 'thing' in your water. Make a guess. It also occurs in the wild.

    Re: Shrimp breeding

Dont need to add anything for them to breed, if water condition is good, the shrimps will start to breed themselves.

    Re: Shrimp breeding

What kind of shrimps do u have? You sure there are males and females together? Cherry species will breed easily, sometimes just after few weeks after adding in to your tank.
Do u add fertilizers or other chemicals in your tank not suitable for shrimps?

    Re: Shrimp breeding

Conditions for your shrimps to properly survive. Tank temperature, gh, ph,nitrite etc.
Maybe your shrimps are not of breeding stage, dont worry and give it a little more time.
Cherry shrimps are pretty hardy, once they're used to the tank and enviroment, they should multiply pretty fast.

    Re: Shrimp breeding

Ya, if after few months not breeding and dying then there is a problem. How long have u waited? Cherry shrimps sure breed alot until yoi have to give away some.
U know how to tell male and females right?

    Re: Shrimp breeding

Don't worry cherry shrimps breed in even not so perfect water conditions, starlett is right that they breed so much you have to give them away, i have to use fishes to control their population sometimes, the reason for not breeding are a few

Are there predators in the tank which might "stress" them?
Do you have a female (Hard to gender during shrimplet to juvenile stage), if they are still juvenile your best bet is to wait and be patient.
Are they molting properly? Normally the holy ritual is done after molting from what i have observed in mine, if they are not molting refer to gh.

Cherry shrimps are like ants, they won't die easily, just do not throw copper into your water after hearing me say this

Nope, How much water volume does your tank has? Agree with others on the female and male part. Cherries will breed readily and their water requirement isn't very demanding. Females must have eggs to breed too. Saddle is the term for females having eggs.

    Re: Shrimp breeding

Cherries should breed easily. Maybe you can share with us how long has your tank been running, duration shrimps have been in tank, differentiate number of males and females, temperature.

    The key is carbonate hardness.
