Seems there has been quite a few queries lately amongst fellow hobbyists about buying shrimps in bulk, either to establish an initial algae eating crew or to beef up their tanks shrimp population.
So for reference, here are some photos i took of shrimps pre-packaged in bulk bags sold at LFS like Y618 and C328:
The photos above were taken recently at Y618. Currently the most commonly seen ones are packed in bags of 50pcs for SGD$10.
Note that the cherry shrimps (neocaridina) in these bulk bags are the lowest-grade ones, mostly transparent and some of the shrimps have also reverted back to "wild" type brown/grey coloration too. They are fine for introduction as algae eating crew in a tank... whether high-grade or low-grade, these shrimps will still do the same jobs.
But if you are planning to keep and maintain higher-grade neocaridina shrimps in your tank, DO NOT mix these low-grade ones into the same tank... that'll be a sure fire way to gradually "down-grade" all the future offspring and get odd variants.
Hope the info helps!

Just went down to c328 today. There are cherry (20/pack), Malayan and yamato. If anyone wants to get them, FYI!
No other shrimp at c328?

Was there in the afternoon.
Yes, there are more shrimps there.
there are a few PRL, 1 per pack. Also there is 1 pack of BB.
Check it out.
Ken
Usually the higher grade RCS or CRS shrimps tend to sit in the sales display tanks for quite a while... whereas the larger bulk bags of low-grade RCS and malayan shrimps get snapped up very fast, must have fast hand fast leg.
Other than what was mentioned, there were many CRS and fire reds. Some rilis, bees and BB too. I managed to seize a pack of fire reds with 2 berried mummy shrimps! hopefully they'll add many more shrimps to my tank
Any blue pearl there?

I think there are big bags of green shrimps which look like pearl blue at $10 per bag
Yes, my first plan was to buy shrimp net. But after I saw berried ma ma and small shrimplets in plastic bag, I can't control myself and bought them.
Berried mums are quite uncommon, I always look for them when I buy a bag of Fire Reds. Hard to find sometimes.
