Anyone knows what brand of a cooling fan is good? my is a 2 feet tank. I tried the ocean free 2 fan propeller, but is quite noisy when the whole house is quiet. Current using a normal fan. but it looks quite silly to have one big fan blowing at the tank and the other thing might be comsuming a lot of eletricity.

I vote for computer fans. Easy to DIY and relatively quiet.. you can only hear them when you're close to the fans.

    Re: Cooling Fan

Yes, the Ocean Free DC fan sets (in 2s, 4s and 6s) are rather noisy, and I find their blowing power fizzles out after a few months. The Taiwanese AC fans (can't remember the brand) with in-built clamps for attachment to tank sides from NA Nature LFS seem much better (and quieter). Previously I was using two sets of the Ocean Free DC fans (a 4 fan and a 6 fan set) but I found that two of the AC fans provide the same cooling power while taking up much less space.

    Re:

Some people use computer fans, but the ones I mentioned are specifically marketed at aquarists. Use the LFS list to find NA's contacts, and browse the Aquatic FAQs and old threads to learn more about the 'jargon'.
