Comprise mainly of Java Moss, after much pressing down during each water change, the foreground and background made up of java moss clumped together.

Nice. How's your lighting level? The Lotus would need more light but the Java Moss won't. How do you find a balance?

what are the specs of your tank?

Anyway how did you press them down?. with gravelpebbles or mesh?

also i thought if the moss layer to thick, the bottom would rot?

    do share more info

Its a 2ft tank in air conditioned room.

I'm using 2x36W PL light, basic base fert and root monster for the lotus.
Also dosing liquid fert after water change.
    No CO2.
Anyone can id the plant on the right hand side? Bought at Teo for $8 but the leaves started to grow longer than the tank till they reach the surface.

The moss below didn't rot, think they can survive below due to low light demand but the top portion trying to grow upwards. But, every water change, I'll press them down with my hands till they clump together.

Every nice moss tank. Especially your background moss. How you grow the moss on the foreground? Can teach me? I'm trying to cover my foreground with plant but don't know which is the best.

For the plant ID, let me make a guess.
If it has a onion-like bulb, then likely to be a Crinum natans. Otherwise it resembles some of the Aponogeton sp.
