So I got this demanding request from my nephew that he wants to put his lego figure in his shrimp thank (which I'm building for him), I'm just wondering, is it safe?

Haha that's gonna be interesting! But I do not know if it's safe either.

I think should be fine as long as the water isn't acidic which will slowly eat the plastic.
Recent studies shows that putting recent studies in your statement have a higher percentage of trust people put into your recent studies. What?

I'm concern about the colouring chemical of Lego.

IMHO, if its kids safe, i think it should be fish safe ( unless your fish eat the lego piece and choke )...wahahaha

Intriguing...my inner Amano screams in agony though haha.

To play safe perhaps you could email the Lego producer on whether their products can last in slightly acidic water conditions? I bet they receive random emails like this time to time.

Hahaha I believe it wouldn't be a problem if it's just for a short while. I believe kids' passion will just fade off in awhile

I un-plug the lego and ensure all the column are free of air then push it down the soil.
