Re: Scaping an Iwagumi - 3ft.

    Hi guys,

It seems like my latest remedy fighting with the thread algae is working, all thanks to the bros who are kind to share with me their knowledge, with some taking extra effort to pm and whatsapp chatting with me. Really appreciate!!!

Stop dosing of iron indeed slow down the thread algae growth. I have started triple daily ml of excel with filter on this round And tried spot dose on the thread algae area and on fissiden along with the water flow. Apparently fissiden survived this time. Also realized SAE start clearing the thread algae this round, I guess SAE really eat on half dead or dead thread algae. I also added 10 red nose which is also assisting.

It is really awesome and amazing to see the difference within 5 days, from a full brunch of thread algae to almost nothing on the hair grass and fissiden.

I have also added the algexit but it on it first week treatment so not sure if it is also helping...

Once again, thanks everyone for being so helpful and like one of the bro say, Never afraid of algae!

I got mine from Y618 but their stock isn't that good. AC has some new stock in, worth giving them a call.

Hi limz_777, ya I agree the HA invasion is very bad, I feel so depress every time I look at the tank, almost have the idea of tearing it down.

Luckily we have a good platform here which people are willing to share. Cheers to AQ bros!

Nice to see it working for you, I am still having trouble with my algae issues. Tried adding Oto but they cannot seem to survive. They tend to collapse involuntarily, not sure why. Can you elaborate on what is "triple daily ml of excel"? please?

Oh sorry... Haha never clear my mailbox, lol...

my SS inlet/outlet is from east ocean, cant really remember the cost but it is less than half the price of Borneowild SS. But take note that the pipes are suppose to mount onto the side of the cabinet unlike Borneowild which end just like the glassware type.
