I'm giving it 23W CFL, yeah I know it's overkill but it seems really dim. My hood is like not really transparent! Somewhat translucent so I guess it's fine? And it's like only 3 gallons and using the wpg rule makes my tank v dim. Was using a 6Wx2 fluorescent tube & very dim!
peiho lovely tank. What is the low foreground plant?
It's Riccia Fluitans! Going to be a lovely carpethaha grows well even in moderate light and no CO2.
MINE!

my humble low tech cory tank![]()
I recently added a lot more low demanding plants to fill up the gaps. Was getting bored with the scape. Might want to change the whole thing soon. The nanas were getting alittle burnt. I'm not sure what's causing it but it doesn't look very healthy. Anyway the tank is way too low for discus .

hey bro...
how do u define low tech?? as in no CO2 is it?
i tried but i have unwanted things inside like snails and algaes i think..
advice?
hi..
why do you have a temperature device??
need advice as wanting to restart again.. btw..
neat tank
Low tech refers to Low requirement plants, low maintenance and a NON-co2 tank setup.(Although some may use DIY c02 to kick start tank and leave them once them mature)
As for snails, you will need to quarantine your plants before putting in the tank.
Any pictures of your setup? It will help alot to troubleshoot.
