    Hi,

I'm a newbie here. After reading Tom Barr's article on non-CO2 method,
    was very inspire
The below tank is running for about 1 month. The plants are growing well.
Trimmed them 2 weeks ago. hair algae can be seen to start growing on
the glass ... had to take care

    Some closer shots at inhabitants

Bought the below from a bro in the forum all doing well

    Tank size - 25cm x 25cm x 25cm (water height)
Lighting - 9 W turn on 6hr (with fan set on timer)
    Hang on filter

Dosing - follow as close to Tom Barr's article.
Dose 3 weeks, rest 1 week

    No chiller and CO2
Using distill water. No water change so far, only topup.

Let's see how it goes another month down the road

    cheers

Love the scape!! I may try to do something similar. What plants are in there?

I think some Flourish excel and more Potassium sulphate would rid you of your algae problem. Probably about a tsp of the Potassium sulphate per water change.

    Lovely tank!!
    What is a PL light?
Is that moss on the ground? If yes, what type?
How did you get it to lay flat?

    Simple but nice!
Take another pic to share when the moss foreground has grown thicker.

Nice setup, but i find it too flat. What if the gravel create a little slopping effect, the long hairgrass at the back.

Hi, for my non-CO2 tank. I'm dosing the below. Any comments?

    - Seacheam Nitrogen (in place of KNO3. LFS say so)
    - Seacheam Phosphrous (in place of KH2PO4. LFS say so)
    - Seacheam Excel (I'm dosing twice a week. Is it too much?)
    - Seacheam Equilibrium

    Dose weekly (silghtly below dosage).
Dose 3 weeks rest 1 week

    cheers

Warning: Do not dose. This is a non-CO2 and low tech tank. Leave it alone.

Tried that and it didn't work. I think I have to dose because the tap water has no nutrients in it and an excess of phosphates.

sorry i'm not doubting you, but isnt the dosing recommended in Tom's
article? the tank is 1 month old and i am not seeing adverse effect yet
    with the dosing (below dosage).

bro, maybe you can share your views why you are against dosing?
    Thanks!

    cheers

Is the Fl light a T8? What is the wattage? What is the brand and kelvin rating?
