you might want to tie up the windelov - they have poor root systems and are better off tied to ornaments.

Beginner setup.....
Just wish to share and hopefully get some advice on which plant to shift to make the tank more appropriate.
I thinking of planting some hair grass... I love them... But seem like no space..... Sad....
Anyone could help?
I will appreciate it a lot.

Advice from boss Felix
Those green plants on the driftwood are Cyperus Haspan, they are actually a pond/marginal plant. They will usually just grow long stalks above the water surface and them the leaves will grow above water.
Note that the leaves are actually emersed leaves, and they will eventually melt away over time.

DIY CO2 difusser.. work with DIY CO2.

Use a wooden chopstick and push right into a air hose.. and attach to a CO2 tank of DIY CO2.
wooden chopstick itself have tiny vein like structure inside... which is very small.. you will be able to see the CO2 from the end of the chopstick...
As a result, the bubble form is very very tiny... effective and budget...

Black Crystal Sand top.. Btm is some brandless Shrimp soil to provide nutrient for my plant.
Using the sand as a cover to prevent the soil power from clouding the water.
But the Black Crystal Sand is awesome.. Under the light us shinny..

Haha really a mini tank, TS what you planning to keep?
Currently is guppy inside.... Waiting for my Red Painted Cherry Shrimp to give shrimplet, then I transfer some over....
http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...42&pcatid=1842 <--- I just saw this page, and the shrimp look like the painted red shrimp I bought at Yishun...... Is it the same? I been keeping them for a couple of month.... If they grow up to 3" inch size, then my nano-tank will be too small.... Got 15 inside my existing tank.....
The shrimp in the link is very different from cherry shrimps... usually when you buy those flower shrimp they are already much larger than adult cherry shrimps, so can definitely tell the difference.
I guess you could post a photo of your shrimps and we can help you confirm the species.
That plant is actually okay for aquariums, just that the stalks will grow up to 2-3ft above the water surface and then sprout its mop shaped leaves... so they are more suitable to be placed in the background.
You could treat it like a riparium plant and just let the stalks grow out of the tank, it'll create a nice pond/riverbank style effect.![]()

If you notice, there's a white line across the head top to the tail top....
Oh ya.... By the way, is that a Fire red or Red Painted Shrimp? IN additional, the yellow shrimp I also don't know his family name...
Will be glad if someone could advise...
Those shrimps in your photos are cherry shrimps (neocaridina heteropoda)... the red ones are sakura or fire red (painted fire red have solid opaque deeper red color on both the shell and legs). The lighter color stripe on their back is a temporary variation that sometime occurs, it can disappear or re-appear after each molt.
The yellow shrimp is another color variant of cherry shrimp (also neocaridina heteropoda), depending on their coloration, some sellers give them names like golden shrimp or emperor shrimp, lots of fancy names.
Btw, do note that if both colors are mixed together in the same tank, they will interbreed and tend to produce odd color/wild brown color offspring.
Its could be a nice feature... to get some inspiration on how emersed plants can be incorporated in a scape, do a google seach on "riparium" and "wabi kusa".![]()

There is one thing I don't understand... Why my shrimp normally is hiding.... But when there's food in the dish, they chiong out and fight for it.... So far they are in good health (I guess).
But for my shrimplet, they are very active, always running about and grazing non-stop....
One reason I thought off, is the big 1 is too old already, so they are inactive....
