    Hi All,

Just want to share something that I've found on the internet. Pricing is pretty expensive (to me) at over $200. Thought I contribute a little (if at all).

Without using chemical (as what I understand), most algae simply cannot survive when this particular product is added into the aquarium. So far I'm unable to find any information on the principle of how this works. It seems to be creating micro bubble and destroying algae. Interesting yet headscatching. It's seems to be stronger than UV sterilizer.

From what I've read, this product comes in 4 different model (nano, mini, S and Super S if I remember correctly). Removing algae is 1 of the function. It helps promote plant growth (probably because no algae so plants tends to grow better) and prevents fish dieases as well.

If anyone manage to get more information on how the product works and/or understand how the process works, please advise. I find this quite interesting.

If anyone decide or is already using this product, could you help confirm whether the product is doing what it say it does.

    Many thanks in advance.

You can check out the local discussion thread of this device here:

Here are also some useful links to in-tank comparisons of the effects too:

I've personally tested it out since (managed to loan a set from a friend to try some time back), from my experience using and swapping it around my tanks, it doesn't eradicate algae in an infected tank on its own or in tanks with underlying imbalances (in my friend's high bio-load tank, the algae still grow and even cover the whole twinstar unit! )... but in well balanced tanks it can at least help to slow down and delay algae growth.

Its more of a preventive tool rather than a cure for algae.

Yes,it is more of a preventive tool,
the best way is still to have a balance of all element in an aquatic tank.
Green chapter is selling it, i believe the twin star plate have a shelf life
so you need to replace after some time.

With $200, I expect something absolute, free of
algae without any intervention. Not like paying
$200 and yet you still need to do A, B and C and hopefully it prevent algae. It does not prevent all type of algae some more. I can do much better without any of this.

Thanks for the info. Glad they price it high which deters me. Lucky me someone in this forum tried before. If the price had been under $100, I would have wasted my money and still have to do A, B and C (hehehe.... didn't want that). At least now I won't be tempted to buy.

I like the mist that the device create but it's too much for a $200 mist maker. Haha
