Hahaha Benny, actually not made to be tank cabinet cos no where to put wires into the cabinet and hide filter. Just gotten this place last Sept and didn't renovate, so make do with the cabinet which is still looking good. Didn't know what to do with it at first. Eventually thought of aquarium (however was struggling with the thought of a Vivarium or planted tank).

yep height looks good but has limited space. Sometimes I just worry my outflow pipe may come out and then water may flood my tv.... arrrgh, hopefully this will never happen. Need to get the outflow lily pipe soon.

It will be good to make sure the cabinet is solid enough to take the weight of a fish tank filled with water. Normal cabinets are usually designed to look good but may not be structurally strong to bear a heavy load like that on top of it for a long period of time. Another thing to note is a fish tank may eventually leak water at the seams, it's only a matter of time, depending on the silicone seal's age. If I place my tank in the hall, I will prefer to construct or custom-build a nice-looking tray surrounding the base of the tank and fitted with a drain hole and small hose leading to somewhere safe.

Not pouring cold water, but just a word of caution worth noting.

Yep thanks. I had checked with a couple of aquarium shops and they told me it's fine. Wood is about 2" thickness and solid wood.
Thanks for the reminder and will always check for any leakage. Thanks!

Since it is made of solid wood, it is safe. There's nothing like thick solid wood furniture - sturdy and long-lasting, and definitely looks much better than iron aquarium stands.

A 3 feet tank is on the small side if you intend to be absorbed in this hobby. A 3ft or 4 ft tank will be much more satisfying in the longer run. There's something about this hobby that's very addictive. And once into fish-keeping, one will always be into it, especially after one has acquired the knack of seasoning a tank.

hello, nice tank... do check that your tank has sufficient circulation to bring the co2 to the plants. from your first picture i can see that the diffuser is place in the middle of the tank. maybe put it directly across your inlet outlet? should be better i guess. hope this helps...

Hi thanks bro. I have changed my filter to Eheim canister filter, the inflow and outflow pipes are at extreme right and my CO2 diffuser is on the extreme left of tank. Will this position be good? Is my lighting enough? I'm using EVO.

Pearling occurs when the water is saturated with oxygen, and this usually means that the plants need to be photosynthesizing for quite abit inorder to fill the water column with oxygen.

Optimum photosynthesis is usually required for achieving pearling effect, of which:
    -Light
    -Nutrients
    -CO2

are the fluctuating factors that will affect photosynthesis.

Having added plant mass will also speed up the rate that oxygen saturates the water column.
Rate of photosynthesis and plant growth rate will also affect the rate that oxygen saturates the water column.

Since you are already using a powerful light, what about your nutrient level in your aquarium?
You can try to up the number of bubbles per second from your CO2 tank for a start to check the CO2 factor.

As everlance mentioned, try to make the CO2 bubbles stay in the water as long as possible to encourage higher rate of dissolvation of CO2. You can put in lower in the aquarium tank so that it will spend more time rising to the surface. Else you can also choose to place it such that the outlet of your 2213 is blowing the ceramic plate of the diffuser so that the bubbles coming from the diffuser will be very fine, increasing the surface area of the CO2 bubbles to encourage faster CO2 dissolvation into the water column to provide CO2 for the plants.

Thank you Qingwen! not sure what's my nutrients level in my aquarium lol.

    Hi bro,

Just to share with you my little knowledge.

If you want to see pearl effect in an immediate short period, you can try double or tripling the co2. Of course your light and nutrient must be sufficient too. If you happen to drop by GC or Fishy, try looking at their co2 bubble counter...

But pearling at such is not what we desired, right? It is better to learn and get the right nutrient level in the tank so that algae could be minimize.

Yep true, but my taiwan, spiky and java moss seem to be growing really slowly. I only fertilise when I see the bottom leaves of my HC are turning yellow because I spotted long strands of hair algae and I'm controlling the nutrients in my tank.

Would be interesting to see how this tank progresses. For now the "trees" look topped.

Haha, the plants are growing so slowly.... yawn! Spotted quite a bit of hair algae already.

My tank Temperature is 29deg. I have a vortex fan. I guess it is temperature which is causing slow growth. Besides having a chiller, how can i bring my temperature down at least 2 more deg?

Nice. Just have to take care that water do not splash/leak/overflow and reach your electronics. Happened to me once when I forgot to turn off the tap while refilling!

Hey all, I need help! All my plants are growing well but my mosses aren't growing well. Spiky, Java and Taiwan... Temperature is about 28-29 deg cel after i changed to a more powerful fan. Is it due to lack of nutrients?
