Hi mariners, planning to start a small scale setup (probably just live corals for now). Been doing up some reading but got confused with the lighting and filtration. My questions is:
1) to grow live corals, is daylight compact PL sufficient? because i planning to run a 2ft lightset shared between my freshwater setup and marine setup (both are 1 footers)
2) Is HOF only setup sufficient for such small scale?
Any links or additional reading material is also appreciated. Thanks for viewing!![]()

Loving crypts <3

Can use canister also. Pl lights too weak. Don't waste money. Get a proper setup

Probably better for you to get a compact LED, like thishttp://freshnmarine.com.sg/estore/smartphn/product_info.php?products_id=4140&osCsid=7ff2096876d77eab40f372d9331f88 HOF you can run carbon and phosban in it, but you need regular water changes. Your 'filtration' will come from live rock.
