I will suggest that you start feeding them once they have hatched.
Hi Bros,
Need some advice and feedbacks.
I have two pairs of german rams and both have spawned in seperate tanks .
What are the chances of them surviving without the parents ?
The first pair eggs has hatched for about 3-4 days sort of free swimming but i noticed there are less and less babies in the tank .
Should i remove them from the parents to save the rest of the babies ?
The second pair eggs just hatched today and the parents have moved them to the back of the tank![]()
Bros, do you think it's advisable if i place all the babies from both pair of rams in the same tank and remove all the parents place them to a separate tank ?
would like to hear some advice on this .
I am thinking after about 5-6 days when they are free swimming i will start feeding them brine shrimp .

German Blue Rams are usually bad parents as they tend to eat the fries. Moreover the fries are sensitive to water parameters changes. If you want to rear the fries, seperate them with parents once free swimming.

Current tank: 1 4 tier 3ft fish rack
Livestock: WC Ivanacara Adoketa, WC Apistogramma Kelleri 'Red Cheeks', A , WC Apistogramma Mendezi, WC Apistogramma Cruziero, WC Apistogramma Elizabethae and WC Biotoecus Operularis.
well i will give it a try and separate all the fries in one of the tank.
thanks for the advice bro
Please feed the fry once they are free-swimming. You should not wait for 5-6 days before feeding them as there will not be sufficient microfauna for the fry to graze on, especially in bare tanks.
Some Ram parents are horrible at raising fry or guarding eggs, so most breeders remove the parents once they have laid eggs or once the eggs have hatched. The fry spend roughly 2 days or so as wrigglers while they use up their yolk sac, before becoming free swimming.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Bro i tried Brine Shrimp but they seem too small for that .
not ready to eat it yet.
I believe to feed fries with baby brine shrimps.

I agree that german rams fries are really small and they are unable to feed on baby brine shrimps. (BBS)
Do try microworm or dump in a ball of hair algae. somehow you will see the fries attached onto the algae. On the 7th day of free swimming, they should be able to feed on BBS
Cheers
yup i tried those from eggs which i hatched myself .
I have a culture of microworms, can meet me at stones aquarium on Tuesday 6-8pm, i can pass you some.
No problem. About your new breeding project, i dare not think of it. Hahahaha
