    Hi.

I am going to retro-refit my current 2 feet tank's carpet from Japanese hair-grass to mini pelia.

Need some advise whether is it better to tie mini pelia to lava rock or stainless steel mesh? Or there are other methods?

    Thank you.

It depends on what layout you are going for... if you want a flat "soccer field" look, then tie to mesh, but if you prefer a more undulated hilly look, then tie to rocks.

Another method i've seen people do is tie them to flat sections of wood or bark, then lay on the substrate, looks nice too.

Urban Aquaria, thanks for your advice. Think I will use a combination of both - ss mesh and lava rock. Will start working this coming super long weekend.

ahkel: Thanks. I have more than enough mini pelia to cover even 4 feet tank.

Re: Scaping with Mini Pelia as carpet plant

Had tough time finding the larger stainless steel mess (so I can cut into smaller desired pieces). Thus took so long to update the photos. Had tied onto those said mess and some lava rocks too. As you can see, i still have several mini pelia in the breeding tank. Some challenges to upload photos too ¬ Will post the updated versions periodically when there is significant progress.

I think that file size is probably way too large... is the photo in original format direct from your camera? Maybe you should resize it smaller then the file size will decrease, then easier to upload.

The other option is to upload it to a photo sharing site like Picasa or Photobucket, then link it in from there.

My mini pelia melted in my moss tank. No chiller and co2. Are they a high requirement plant? Now im left with plenty of bare wire meshes and lava rocks.
