    Hi!

I have a 3ft tank with an overhead filter system. I notice that everytime i feed my fishes daphnia, quite a lot of them get sucked into the powerhead.

Is this ok? Or should i switch of the powerhead everytime i feed? Same with brine shrimps although they tend to be able to swim away from the filter.

    Thanks!

    Re: Feeding Daphnia

Its always better to switch off the filter during feeding, so that the daphnia don't get sucked into the pump.

A better alternative is to cover the intake strainer with a fine sponge, that'll solve the issue.

I had the same problem too, but i use canister filters so the daphnia just end up living in the filter until i retrieve them during filter maintenance.

Thanks! I am going with covering the intake strainer with a fine sponge!
