Shouldn't be a problem... the burnt parts would just sort of act like carbon in your tank. The main issue is the burnt parts might be brittle and flake into pieces in the tank, so best to scrape and break off any weak parts before using.
Hi Guys
I've just purchased a pc of Bogwood. Some of the branches have been burnt.
I tried to scrape it of with a knife...but its not easy as parts of it is badly burnt.
Is it safe for me to use it in my tetra tank.
Please advice...
Thank You All bros In Advance...
Eric

Burnt parts dont act like carbon, Ash are all non-aqueous residue that remains after a sample is burnt, which consists mostly of metal oxides..=_= If you are worried, you can soak it in water for a few days then observe for any changes before putting it into the tank. Most metal oxides are insoluble in water though
