not sure if this helps but i've read that they do better in rich substrates and low temp ard 23-24C.
Bought one of this lace leaf plant grown from bulb a month ago from the shop beside NA. It was olive drab in colour with 3-inch long leaves when I took it home.
3 weeks after planting it in my tank, new leaves are reddish brown and the old leaves seem to be growing a green mantle that is covering up the "holes" of the leaf.![]()
I certainly would like to have the plant's leaves remain looking gauze-like but this covering seem to be slowly growing in the other leaves too, starting at the outer edges of the leaf, which isa disappointment. Is this a natural thing about the Aponogeton madagascariensis? Or is it due to insufficient light (I have it growing in the shade of taller plants)
Did I get an Aponogeton madagascariensis or did I get another plant that I thought was A. madagascariensis?
Warm regards,
Lawrence Lee

I do have a rich substrate, but certainly not the temp. Knowing that this is a difficult plant to grow, and yet mine is putting out new leaves, I am asking if the plant I have is actually NOT Aponogeton madagascariensis.

Sorry, I don't have access to a camera. The link you gave shows the same kind of leaf that my plant has. However, the colour of my plant is not that green but olive. And the holes in the leaf formed by the veins are slowly filling in with what looks like "leaf tissue"
