    Hey folks,
im thinking of converting my guppy tank converted into a moss tank into a nano (riccia and other crawlies).

Just wondering, which method do you people recommend, carbon source, DIY or share with a CO2 tank? Cos i dun wan it to be too expensive.

i think some use CO2 tablets. not expensive; $10+ per packet which can last for about 2 months for a nano.

I think easiest and cheapest is still to employ a simple DIY CO2 for your tank. Use a small inverted bottle (eg. plastic medicine bottle) as a reactor.

Another alternative is use a product called Seachem Flourish Excel which is an alternative carbon source.

I vote for DIY Co2 too.

If the 1.5l bottle is too big and unsightly, DIY one using smaller bottles! It'd look cool and cute

As for getting the c02 into the tank, a simple diffusor will do, or the reactor like juggler mentioned.

Flourish Excel, imho, might as well buy a full c02 cylinder setup with solenoid. If you calculate the costs, buying the Flourish Excel is like paying 10 bucks for each Cardinal.
