    my tank is a 2 x 1.5 x 1.5. lightings 2 x 36W, photo 9hrs. CO2 injected at 30+ppm.

been dosing my PMDD from stock solution. 6ml of KNO3, 1-2ml of KH2PO4 twice weekly for some time. only started dosing lushgro micros at 2ml twice weekly recently. noticed pin holes forming on the leaves of some of the plants from the echinodorus family. (the pin holes started b4 i dosed the micros)

understand that those pin holes could be due to insufficient N. should i up my N and by how much? or is there something else wrong in the regime?
    regards
    alan

Try 6-10ppm of NO3 from KNO3 3x a week, 1ppm of PO4 from KH2PO4 3x a week and 3-4ml of lushgro micros 3-4x a week (Depending on plant mass, type and critter loading). That should more or less cover the nutrient side of things. Just make sure you keep a close eye on the CO2 and do weekly 50% water changes.

Just wondering. Perhaps a little K from K2SO4 might help. If I am not wrong, you are using coral chips in your filter.

The amount of K in the KNO3 dosage is more than enough for the elemental N as folks in APD found out. Unless you live in an area with high NO3 tap water, you do not need to dose K2SO4. Oh...you need good test kits to test for the NO3 though..LaMotte and Hach kits are good but not those hobbyist kits sold in LFS.

    hi peter,

    for a 150x60x60 cm tank or 110Gal / 417l of water:

What is the recommended lushgro micros dosage? Per week.

Pardon me that I am hijacking this post...

Not sure how much light you have over your tank but a ball park value of 5ml per 25gal of tank water is a good point to start with. In order to find the amount of traces needed, you need to make sure that the CO2 and macros are in good range during the period of testing. Dose the amount as suggested for 3-4 weeks or so and note any increase in plant growth and health rather than using some Fe kit. Then add more and repeat the testing over a course of 3-4 weeks again. Do you notice any increase in plant health or growth? The point where you no longer notice an increase in health or growth rate of the plants is the max point of the trace amount to dose.
