It's common for new tank/wood , a type of bacteria fungus it's not harmful I wouldn't worry about it .
It'll usually go away on its own , or you can add in some oto or amano shrimps they will clear it within few days .

I recently dismantled my 4ft tank and redid the planting. A complete revamp using new power sand, Gex soil, chiller, lights etc. A new filter too. This photo was taken after a week. What is this white stuff growing on my tank and how can i get rid of it.
Thank you for any help or advice

Does cherry shrimp clear it
Is it gel-like? If it is, i also had it, the cherry shrimps did not clear it, but the ramshorn snail did.
Livebearers eat it.

Does Chinese algae eater or loach eat it?
only staving yamato shrimp eat it. they are rather selective on this when there is food.
its like a protein inside all these new wood. it is better to use water and boil the wood for straight 20-30 minutes. it greatly help to reduce all these white stuff and brown water issue.
although they are both harmless. shrimp will eat them as these white stuff as it slowly decay in the water. best is to take out the wood and scrub it off.
