    Hi,

I am new to this. recently I have set up a Shrimp tank( Crystal Red Shrimp) 1ft.

however, at 1st the water was clear. but after a few days the water started to turn cloudy.

I have tested my PH, Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate .

PH is around 6, Ammonia is 2ppm , Nitrite is 0 ppm and Nitrate is less then 5ppm.

can anyone advice why my water has become cloudy?

    thanks.

Should be a bacteria bloom, not to worry.
Will slowly clear up within a few days.

I found out that my driftwood has those white jelly stuff on it too... does it matter?

I went to wash the driftwood and put it back in the tank... hope I did not do anything wrong..

they're harmless, if its an eyesore for you, just use finher and gently rub it off underwater and siphon it out, else, some yamato can clear it away within few days

If yoi washed it with tap water, means you washed away the beneficial bacteria on it I suppose. If you want to wash anything, its best to wash with your tank water.

The white fungus is harmless. My shrimps had a huge feast when I introduced them to my fungus infested driftwood.
