have been trying to fix it but still the same. At first i thought it's the surface skimmer that give the problem suck air into the filter so remove it and still the same. cos no air goes in at all from the intake tube. prime the filter before on it, still the same.

also the filter are all seal, all 4 clipper are secure but i notice water leaks too?
seems like it flooded to the top filter compartment?

    anyone can help?

Joe: 2 things you can check:

    1) the 2 little O-rings on the part connecting the hose to the filter may have frayed. And water leaked from there. Try yo get new ones to replace.
    2) the big square O-ring that seals the filter pump to the cannister.

If (1) doesn't solve, then check (2). These are the only points of leakage unless your filter got other cracks.

    thanks fong,

cos the the big square O-ring that seals the filter pump to the cannister is OK water dont leak from there. cos the water flood at the pump filter compartment and leaks from the top part...

    dont see any crack.

what about the air? the air go in from there too?

Perhaps you wish to send in your Ehiem filter for repairs at Qian Hu. They provide such services for a fee of course. Call them up for more details.

    Cheers!

before the priming, ensure all the tubes are water free
insert both inlet and outlet into the water... and do the priming.
If it fails. suck from the outlet.

    And look for leakage.

Joe: The 2 small o-rings I mentioned are labelled as part number "7444190" in this PDF document http://213.61.31.12/eheim/pdf/english/ersatzteile/2026b2128%20(GB).pdf

My 2224 also got this problem before where the o-ring was torned a bit and therefore no more water-tight. Water leaked out from the top of the filter. Can check if it is the same problem... good luck.
